Let’s start the day around 9:00 a.m. with a typical Lisbon spout, accompanied by the famous Pastel de Belém from 1837 to delight its visitors. Next to the splendor of the Jerónimos Monastery, Manueline style and a brutal testimony of the time of the Portuguese Discoveries. Visit to the tombs of Vasco da Gama and Luís de Camões.
Next we visit the Belém Tower strategically built on the north bank of the river Tagus in 1514 to defend the bar of Lisbon. D Manuel I leaves us this legacy that today is an architectural pearl admired and visited by thousands of people.
We will continue the tour through Alcantara, where we will have a refreshment and explore the zone with vibe and more industrial architecture of the LX Factory.
Crossing the bridge over the river Tagus, we can see the sight and its charms and we are welcomed by Christ the King with open arms since 1934 to watch over Lisbon, built by Cardinal Cerejeira, Patriarch of Lisbon.
Stop for lunch in the old town of Almada.
The Castle is a unique testimony to the history of Lisbon and Portugal, which is considered the most emblematic monument of the city of Lisbon. It was conquered to the Moors by the first King of Portugal D. Afonso Henriques.
Going down one of the 7 hills of Lisbon, we visit the viewpoints of St Luzia, Nossa Senhora do Monte and Portas do Sol. This is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the day, as you get a clear idea of the city of Lisbon. Enjoy a pleasant late afternoon in the most typical area of the city. Before finishing, we visited the Eduardo VII Park baptized in 1903 in honor of Edward VII, monarch of the United Kingdom, who had visited Lisbon in order to reaffirm the bonds of friendship between the two countries.
